Project365 [240/365]: Palm Beach Parklands

Location:

Palm Beach Parklands, Gold Coast

The Setup:

Lui, Evelyn, James and I went to see Bob - Grandfather and great-grandfather. Lui researched on ye olde internet and found this place at Palm Beach that was well regarded for food and being child-friendly. I already remember the place as being a great location, but there have been some improvements since I last visited (the cafe being one).

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 30/1mm
Exposure: 1/4000" @ f/25/10, ISO 100

Post processing:

Lightroom - I started by setting the exposure to +2, blowing it out, and cropping out a lot of the sand. I set fill light +15 and blacks +20 (which brought out the colours in her shirt), but going any further with those two settings would have ended up with bad skin tones. Final adjustments done using curves - darks +60 and shadows -75.

The wash-up:

Since I was just chasing her about with the camera, it was just luck of the draw.

What do you think?

All constructive criticism is welcome! Please let me know what you think, and what you don't like about the picture. Everything is on the table, including the setup, equipment used, and the post processing. Nothing is off-limits and I'm always eager to learn!
