Project365 [328/365]: What Lies Underneath

Location:

At home, Ipswich

The Setup:

Lui had the great idea of using our crowbar* to lever up the concrete and tiles. This has made things move much faster.

Unfortunately, no paranoid old man stashed his fortune underneath the tiles on our verandah, but somebody did put down some very fine wood that has stood for 55+ years.

* It's a long crowbar, which we also use to pull out tree roots

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 30/1mm
Exposure: 1/250" @ f/4/1, ISO 1600

Post processing:

Lightroom -

  1. Curves: lights +50, darks -25, shadows -50
  2. Fill light +25, blacks +15, clarity +100 (It was raining, which made for some nice saturated colours anyway.)

The wash-up:

My preferred photo, which was alongside the edge of the tiles, didn't work because I had some railing in the way that I had not considered.

What do you think?

All constructive criticism is welcome! Please let me know what you think, and what you don't like about the picture. Everything is on the table, including the setup, equipment used, and the post processing. Nothing is off-limits and I'm always eager to learn!
