Project365 [334/365]: Train Racing

Location:

Between Taringa and Indooroopilly stations

The Setup:

This is inspired by @QueenslandRail's post (http://365project.org/queenslandrail/365/2011-11-23) on train racing:
Train Racing on 365 Project
Train Racing: Pretending the train you’re on is racing the train next to you.

Immature? Yes.

Fun? Tonnes.

Conveniently for me, the 5.28 Ipswich express and the 5.25 Richlands all stations services race eachother at some point down the line.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 18/1mm
Exposure: 1/8" @ f/16/1, ISO 100

Post processing:

Lightroom -

  1. Curves: lights +35, darks +5, shadows +5
  2. Fill light +10, blacks +25, clarity +100, saturation +20
  3. Noise reduction: luminance +30

The wash-up:

This was executed exactly as I intended. To do it better, I could have done it with a tripod, but that would have looked even more weird on the train!

What do you think?

All constructive criticism is welcome! Please let me know what you think, and what you don't like about the picture. Everything is on the table, including the setup, equipment used, and the post processing. Nothing is off-limits and I'm always eager to learn!
