Location:St Mary's Church, Wood End, Ipswich
The Setup:Alan Warren has posted a few photos of this church, and I thought I'd head down and have a crack at it. I had taken test shots last night so knew which angle I wanted.
The camera & lens:Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II @ 18mm
Exposure: 5" @ f/7.1, ISO 100 (Av, 1-stop exposure bracketing, this was the "normal" exposure)
Lightroom 3 -
- Colour temperature: all the way down to minimum (cool) (2000K)
- Presence: Exposure +0.8 stops, fill light +30, blacks +10, clarity +100
- Curves: lights -45, darks -30, shadows -20
The wash-up:I made a lame attempt at HDR on this, but didn't get the right sorts of exposure - plus no clouds. I was also considering star trails with the church in the foreground but didn't really think it through. Will have to try these things again in the new year!
