A bike from rider's point of view, in a bike lane.

Location:

Wacol, Brisbane
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

Second big bike ride - work to almost home, 35km (Brisbane City -> Ebbw Vale). This photo was at Wacol. Teeny weenie bike lane with no separation from traffic. Luckily it's a quiet side road, and lucky there is a bike lane at all.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Fuji FinePix XP60
Lens: Fuji FinePix XP60 fixed lens 5-25mm (28-140mm equiv) f/3.9-4.9 @ 5mm
Exposure: 1/50" @ f/3.9, ISO 100 (0/100)

Post processing:

Lightroom 5 -

  1. Convert to B&W
  2. Clarity +55
  3. Noise reduction, luminance +30, detail +100
  4. Yellow gray level -10 (to darken the yellow label)
  5. Cloned out shadow (I think it was the camera strap) in bottom right of frame.

What would you do?

I think it was pretty dangerous to take photos while riding your bicycle. You’re a brave person, but please don’t do this again. I don’t want you to hurt yourself. How can I learn about ColdFusion and photography if you’re lying in the hospital 😉 ???
I hope you were wearing a helmet! Stay safe out there!
Now to the picture: it’s pretty cool, especially in black & white. I just wished I could see the bike in full 😉
