Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

These guys take their sandcastle building very seriously.

Surfers Paradise's beaches need constant maintenance.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Sony RX100 II
Lens: Sony RX100M2 fixed lens 10.4-37.1mm f/1.8-4.9 (28-105mm equivalent) @ 37.1mm
Exposure: 1/1600" @ f/6.3, ISO 160 (0/10)

Post processing:

Starting point - sunny day with camera on auto.

Auto upright perspective has straightened the horizon for me.

To brighten the scene: Basic: Exposure +0.3 stops, shadows +70, white clipping +30, black clipping -30, clarity +30, saturation +20

To give the water a bit more zing, it was time for a bit more fine tuning. Switched to HSL panel, set blue saturation +30 and aqua +5.

Final step, noise reduction, luminance +20. Result of this is subtle.

Finished picture.
