The Setup:

There are a bunch of these guys hanging out around the area. They don't squawk a lot, but you can tell they are around when they are eating seeds off the trees - crackle crackle crackle.

Identified as Corellas via: Science Direct website

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 650D
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS @ 85mm
Exposure: 1/125" @ f/5.6, ISO 100 (0/1)

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Crop square
  2. Presence: Clarity -20, saturation -5 (to de-emphasise the green of the power pole)
  3. Curves: Highlights +10, lights -5, darks -40, shadows -10
  4. Saturation adjustment: yellow -65, green -85 (again, to de-emphasise the power pole), red +40, orange +40 (to brighten the blush on their faces).
