Brisbane Rd, Bundamba
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

I had planned to take a night-time long exposure of this. I took a test shot in the morning that I ended up liking much better, thanks to some lovely morning sun. The guys who painted this on neglected one thing: it's facing east, so is subject to some blistering sunlight. Most things that are pointed east or west on Brisbane/Ipswich Road suffer pretty bad fading.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 15/1mm
Exposure: 1/400" @ f/11/1, ISO 400

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Presence: Clarity +60
  2. Curves: lights +10, darks -10
  3. ACR lens correction for Canon 15-85: Vignetting correction set to 0 (I prefer the light drop-off in this pic)

The wash-up:

I didn't bother trying the night shot, so who knows if it would have looked better.
