General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

We found a caterpillar in the lettuce and Evelyn was fascinated.

This is for this week's get pushed challenge. My challenge this week was from @spankyjane to depict an expression of emotion. This photo just happened anyway but the challenge is very difficult!

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 650D
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS @ 85mm
Exposure: 1/160" @ f/5.6, ISO 500 (0/1)

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Exposure +0.4 stops, shadows +25, black clipping -35
  2. Graduated filter from left to middle: Exposure +0.7 stops, contrast -5, saturation -10 (to even out the lighting on her face)
  3. Crop

The wash-up:

I would have preferred a bit of background but I was holding her hand in the photo and wanted to crop that out. There wasn't much background to start with.

What would you do?
