Ipswich Showgrounds, Ipswich
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

The bee exhibit at the show. I shot this against mesh - close enough and wide enough, the mesh is invisible.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Sony RX100 II
Lens: Sony RX100M2 fixed lens 10.4-37.1mm f/1.8-4.9 (28-105mm equivalent) @ 12.48mm
Exposure: 1/500" @ f/2.8, ISO 160 (0/10)

Post processing:

Image shot through mesh, needs lots of work.

Crop and rotate

Lens corrections panel. Auto perspective adjustment didn’t do the trick, so I went to manual. Horizontal +15.

Basic panel. Shadows +25, clarity +75

Graduated filter to bring some darkness back to the lower half. Shadows -70

Noise reduction: Luminance +20, detail +100. Only really noticeable at pixel level.

Finished picture.
