Goodna, Ipswich
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

This is a rusted car shell sitting outside a shed at Goodna, which I ride or run past on my way to work.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Sony RX100 II
Lens: Sony RX100M2 fixed lens 10.4-37.1mm f/1.8-4.9 (28-105mm equivalent) @ 10.4mm
Exposure: 1/25" @ f/1.8, ISO 6400 (Auto ISO, Apeture Priority)

Post processing:

Starting point. First thing I've noticed is more distracting out-of-focus detail in the foreground than I want. Also the rest is fairly low-contrast.

Basic panel: Highlights +100, shadows +15, black clipping +45. This has increased contrast and removed enough of the yellow cast to make me happy.

The image was pretty noisy, so I've applied some strong noise reduction. Luminance +40, detail +100.

Here's the before and after for the noise reduction. Some loss of detail, but still enough left that you won't notice unless you are looking at 100% (like here).

Final step: crop down to snip out some of the grass at the front. Still enough grass left to get the idea.

Finished picture.

I call it Shark in the Grass.

Done in Pixlr. Used pinch tool on the headlight, then bloat tool to fashion the front grill into a mouth.
Pencil tool in sketchy mode to draw in the teeth (just draw a triangle and it fills in the rest).
