The Setup:

This was a lemon lime sliced up a day ago. Half was squeezed over fajita meat, the other not needed. This was another one done on the scanner, just for something different.

The camera & lens:

Camera: HP Photosmart C4180
(1200dpi)

Post processing:

Lightroom -

  1. As a base, applied a preset called Bidong's Black and White. It is a preset with medium-high contrast.
  2. Presence: Recovery +100, black clipping +100, clarity +100
  3. Curves: highlights, lights and darks all +100, shadows -25
  4. Spot adjustment: there was a lot of crap on the platter, so I added a spot adjustment to everything that isn't lemon, exposure -4 stops.

The wash-up:

I would have put the two halves closer together. I was also thinking of a tighter crop with some of each half cut off - for a less-is-more picture. If anyone wants to try, feel free!

What would you do?
