The Setup:

As the land slopes down from one side of the block to the other, this section of the block is elevated to the first or second floor of the building opposite. There were a reasonable number of people sitting around having lunch on the grounds.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 650D
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS @ 29mm
Exposure: 1/250" @ f/4.5, ISO 100 (0/1)

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Preset: B&W Look 5, which uses desaturation to get a B&W image, with shadow levels -15, temp +60 and tint +25.
  2. Heavy crop
  3. Highlights +100, shadows +25, white clipping +100, black clipping -15
