Roma Street Parklands, Brisbane
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

I was up the back with my long lens, hoping to capture this moment.

I was shooting at ISO 1600 to ensure a clear shot with the movement, and the fact that we were in the shade (inside the pavillion), and that I had no control over anything in the situation.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 140/1mm
Exposure: 1/125" @ f/71/10, ISO 1600

Post processing:

Lightroom - First up was to apply noise reduction (50) to counter the effect of the high ISO. I used a curve adjustment to lighten the lights (lights +35, darks -5). After that, I used the blacks (10) and fill light (35) to add further contrast. After that, the background was decidedly bright, so I used recovery (15) to bring that slightly under control. Final touch was to reduce clarity (-25) to give a soft focus effect to the shot.

The wash-up:

I think the angle could have been better, so the celebrant wasn't interfering in the picture, but I took what I could get.
