Location:

Bundamba train station
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

This is a sign at the station which warns about the live overhead wires, and I liked the pattern of the reflective coating.

The camera & lens:

@ 77/20mm
Exposure: 1/17" @ f/28/10, ISO 400

Post processing:

Lightroom - Curves: I left the light levels more or less as they were, instead raising the exposure by 0.5, but dropped the dark levels to zero to bring some contrast in to the picture. I also increased the clarity level to 100 which added contrast and definition to the edges. Noise reduction was set at maximum (iPhone photos are fairly noisy generally and pushing up the levels will also push up the noise even further). As a result of all this fiddling, the picture ended up quite purple, so I dropped the saturation down to 50% to counter this. Finally, a bit of lightening vignette and a bit of distortion adjustment to make the angle of view a bit more severe.

The wash-up:

Being highly reflective, my shoes are visible. I could have stood to the side to get myself out of the shot, but then my train came along. (And I didn't think of it at the time, but shh.)

What would you do?
