Salisbury, Brisbane
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

I saw this scene from the train on my last riding odyssey, and noted it down. When it came time to photograph, I drove up the service road and found the spot I was after. I tried many different angles, including zoomed in ones and wide-angle ones.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 18/1mm
Filters: Polariser
Exposure: 1/400" @ f/71/10, ISO 200

Post processing:

Lightroom - This is a crop of the original. I upped the fill light, blacks and clarity (like normal). The curve adjustment I used darkened the foreground area (lights and darks -15 each), and highlighted the clouds (highlights +45). Using the polarising filter when shooting meant I didn't have to do anything to the sky afterward.

The wash-up:

The wide-angle perspective with the poles doesn't really work for me, and could probably be fixed in Photoshop.
