Location:Spring Hill, Brisbane
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland
The Setup:I never get tired of taking distorted photos of things. (That's an exaggeration; I didn't take any for over a year.) This is The Old Windmill in Spring Hill, apparently the oldest (European) structure still standing in Queensland, built in 1828.
The camera & lens:Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Filters: 0.42x fisheye filter (fisheye mode)
Exposure: 1/160" @ f/63/10, ISO 100
Lightroom - I wasn't sure how to approach the processing, so I just mucked around with various things, and it quickly became apparent that there was a lot of texture to be had. I converted to B&W and used the colour mix selector to mess with which colours went in to the final picture (a bit less orange, a lot more yellow, a bit less green, a bit more aqua, blue and purple). The curve adjustment served to create dark patches for drama (lights +25, darks -100, shadows -100). Final adjustments were recovery +100, to bring back some blown out highlights, and blacks +20.
