A pole with a vine curled around it, painted.

Location:

Brisbane City
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

I imagine the narrative goes a little like this:
Build fence; Plant hedge; Paint fence - hedge is in the way - paint hedge as well; Cut hedge

I discovered this while walking to Bridge to Brisbane training a few weeks ago and snapped it a few times but wasn't satisfied with the results so went back for another try.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Lens: Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX-DC @ 30mm
Exposure: 1/640" @ f/1.8, ISO 100

Post processing:

Lightroom - I set a mild curve (light +15, darks -15), fill light +30 and blacks +20. I wanted the colours a bit punchier, but when increasing saturation for the whole image, I found the background became a bit intrusive, so I used selective saturation adjustment, for aqua (+45) and blue (+40) only - which made the painted vine brighter and left the rest of the picture alone.

The wash-up:

After snapping this a few times, I was sure of what I wanted to get this time, and got it.
