The Setup:

After leaving the window open all night last night, I found this massive mozzie up against the window sill. I assume it's a mozzie anyway. It looks like a mozzie.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II @ 28mm
Filters: 0.42x fisheye filter (macro mode)
Exposure: 1.3" @ f/16, ISO 400 (1-stop exposure bracketing, tripod and cable release)

Post processing:

Lightroom:

  1. Curves: Darks +60 (exposure was mostly correct in-camera, thanks to bracketing)
  2. Lighting/Edges: Fill light +15, Blacks +35, Clarity +100 (to emphasise the parts of the body)

The wash-up:

I wanted to take this on the window sill itself as the white-painted wood had a great texture in the low, morning sun. I couldn't get the tripod close enough to do that, so I used a bookshelf instead.

What would you do?
