Location:

At work
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

These weights were all lined up (and not left lying about - good job, boys).

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
@ 30/1mm
Filters: Polariser
Exposure: 1/250" @ f/2/1, ISO 1600

Post processing:

Lightroom -

  1. Curves: Highlights +45, lights +20, darks -40, shadows -100.
  2. Covert to B&W, using default mix
  3. Clarity +35
  4. I chose some custom white balance and tint settings after reading what Alan had been doing. White Balance to Tungsten (okay, so not too adventurous yet), and tint +30. This shifted the source colours from which the B&W tones are set
  5. Noise Reduction - luminance +65 and all other settings at default

The wash-up:

I couldn't quite line it up so the edge of the rack was out of frame, but I was already crouched in a quite unnatural position to get this shot.

What would you do?
