The Setup:

I was just snapping Evelyn opening the door for herself, and the ray of sunlight did the rest for me.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Panasonic DMC-FX01
Lens: Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.6-16.8mm (28-102mm equiv) f/2.8-5.6 @ 4.6mm
Exposure: 1/250" @ f/2.8, ISO 80 (0/100)

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Preset: B&W Look 5, which uses desaturation to get a B&W image, with shadow levels -15, temp +60 and tint +25.
  2. Presence: Exposure -0.75 stops, highlights +20, white clipping -100, black clipping +15
  3. Graduated filter #1 - from top to bottom of the frame, exposure -0.75 stops
  4. Graduated filter #2 - from middle of frame to bottom, exposure +1.5 stops (both of above to lighten and even out the non-sunlight lighting)
