Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

This was a dude and his dog riding on a bike around town. Shot from the hip during shoot from the hip practice.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 650D
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS @ 15mm
Exposure: 1/1000" @ f/3.5, ISO 100 (0/1)

Post processing:

Lightroom 5 -

  1. Eric Kim's B&W Dramatic preset (uses LR 2010 process)
  2. Brush stroke to lighten the dog's head (otherwise it was quite dark and was lost amongst the background behind it)

The wash-up:

I was practising shooting from the hip at 15mm. Not quite in focus but wide angle meant the depth of field was pretty deep. Background very cluttered.
