RSPCA, Wacol
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

Lindsey seemed a very anxious dog, and was both intrigued by and scared of Evelyn.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Sony RX100 II
Lens: Sony RX100M2 fixed lens 10.4-37.1mm f/1.8-4.9 (28-105mm equivalent) @ 20.85mm
Exposure: 1/60" @ f/3.5, ISO 3200 (0/10)

Post processing:

Starting point - shot through glass in indoor light.

Auto upright perspective correction (to correct the angles of the walls - still had to compromise by keeping a slightly off-angle, rather than have it look totally unnatural)

Crop to focus on the detail / reduce blank space in the shot.

Basic: Highlights +10, shadows -70, white clipping -30, black clipping -60 (to increase contrast). Still a bit dark after this.

Basic: Clarity +55 - brings some brightness back via popping the wall detail. Whether this is a good idea is up to your sensibilities.

Noise reduction: Luminance +40, detail +100. This is also subjective - at 100%, I could go with either one. Zoomed out, no real difference. The noisier image ends up with a much large filesize though.

Finished picture.
