Two people on a scooter riding past some shops.

Albert St, Brisbane
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

On my first day of attempted street photography with the new RX100 II, these guys rode past on their scooter. I didn't have the right settings on the camera but I think this looks okay cropped.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Sony RX100 II
Lens: Sony RX100M2 fixed lens 10.4-37.1mm f/1.8-4.9 (28-105mm equivalent) @ 12.78mm
Exposure: 1/1600" @ f/2.8, ISO 400 (Aperture priority (should have been Time priority))

Post processing:

Lightroom 5 -

  1. Crop
  2. Basic: Shadows +55, clarity +20
  3. Radial filter, circling the riders: Exposure -0.5 stops, shadows -55, clarity -80 (weak attempt at de-emphasising the background)

The wash-up:

I was at the wrong zoom mark as I wasn't paying attention to that.
