Abandoned building lit by coloured gels, with an orb shape lightpainted in the courtyard.

The Setup:

As I arrived, Alan had already set up this shot, so I plonked my camera next to his and he drew his orb.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 650D
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS @ 16mm
Exposure: 90" @ f/6.3, ISO 200 (M, intervalometer)

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Crop
  2. ACR lens correction profile for EF-S 15-85mm
  3. ACR lens correction (manual): vertical -15, to straighten the vertical lines near the left and right edges of the frame
  4. Presence: Exposure +0.4 stops, highlights +30, shadows +100, white clipping -45, black clipping -15,
  5. Noise reduction: Luminance +25, color +50 (a bit of noise present due to the long exposure).
