A man crouching to take a photo next to a graffitied building

Seven Hills, Qld
General location: Australia, South-East Queensland

The Setup:

Spent an afternoon and evening at the abandoned TAFE. This is Mick taking an artistic photo of a pipe.

The camera & lens:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Lens: Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS @ 20/1mm
Exposure: 1/60" @ f/56/10, ISO 400

Post processing:

Lightroom 4 -

  1. Presence: Shadows +25, whites +65, blacks -35, clarity +10
  2. Curves: Lights -25, darks -15
  3. Rotate slightly
  4. ACR lens correction: No profile, but used manual transform settings to rotate and try to correct perspective. Distortion +8, vertical +15, horizontal +15, scale 104 (+4). It's not perfect, but I think it's better than it was.

The wash-up:

I'm reasonably happy with this, although a different angle would have allowed all of the leading lines to be straighter.
